Your wedding colour scheme is defined by you as an individual and would normally have something to do with a special meaning to you or might be based around your favourite colour.

Your colour scheme plays an important role in your big day, as it means that everything from the dresses, the flowers, the table decor and cake is coordinated and well matched (if that is the type of that you are looking for).

Colours can be symbolic of seasons and emotions. The combination of your selected colours will create a certain mood or ambience to your day.

The following colours can be related to seasons:

Spring:
Cool colours such as lime green, baby pink, rich cream, soft purple, baby blue, and soft silver tones.

Summer:
Rich peaches, ice whites, baby yellows and bright blues.

Autumn:
Burnt oranges, burgandy, deep reds, olive green, and deep purple.

Winter:
Any frosty tones of cream or white, such as ivory, pale coffee creams and . Burnt oranges can also fall in this season.

If you are having difficulty choosing your colour schemes, here are a few connotations of specific colours:

Red: Energy, strength, power, determination, passion, desire, and love.
: Joy, sunshine, enthusiasm, happiness, creativity, and success.
Yellow: Happiness, honour, loyalty and energy.
Green: Growth, harmony, freshness, and fertility
Blue: Stability, trust, loyalty, wisdom, confidence, intelligence and faith
Purple: Royalty, power, ambition, extravagance and wisdom.
White: Goodness, innocence, purity, and virginity and perfection
Brown: Stability, reliability, approachability and organic.

If you have narrowed down your choice of colour schemes, and still can’t decide on your final selection, then why not create a mood board?

Mood boards are handy tools used by designers to present a collection of ideas and inspiration, without actually committing to any one idea.
Why not give it a try? You can either use a specific computer program or use clippings from magazines and stick certain colours and ideas together on paper, ensuring that nothing is stuck down permanently, allowing you to play around with different pictures and ideas.
